How is Nexternal "Green"?
Nexternal’s Management Team believes that the company should do its part to reduce its human footprint upon the earth. Following are some of the things Nexternal has done thus far in working towards that goal.
1. Energy Efficient Servers – Power consumption is a major issue when hosting large server farms. To minimize its impact, Nexternal buys only Energy Efficient Servers.
2. Recycling - Nexternal recycles paper, cans, bottles, and even old electronics used by company employees.
3. Electronic Invoicing – Nexternal strongly encourages electronic invoicing of its clients and will charge an invoicing fee to those that demand paper invoices.
4. Bicycles – Bikes are available to employees in Nexternal’s headquarters. Nexternal actively encourages employees to ride and leave the car at home.
5. Friendly Location - Nexternal leases office space only in areas that are pedestrian friendly and community oriented. Once an employee arrives for the day, there is no need for them to drive their car until they leave for the evening.
Nexternal also provides financial support to several non-profit organizations that benefit the environment. In 2008, significant monetary donations were made to the follow organizations:
Conservation International (www.conservation.org)Surfrider Foundation (www.surfrider.org)
Solar Electric Fund (www.self.org)
"The Order Management System is the only system to ever thoroughly meet our needs. From the hip, I can say that monthly sales are up 30-40% over prior months without Nexternal's e-commerce system in place."
