With it's long winemaking tradition in the Santa Cruz Mountains,BARGETTO WINERY produces a special wine called LA VITA, (meaning"the life" in Italian). LA VTA is a unique blend of northernItalian red varietals which are all grown in our Regan EstateVineyards. The varietals which make up LA VITA are Dolcetto,Nebbiolo and Refosco. This handcrafted wine was aged for 2 years inoak barrels and puncheons and then aged an additional 2 years inthe bottle prior to release.
Bargetto Winery's 2008 La Vita is introduced with a rich deep rubycolor. The nose begins with cedar, oak, subtle earthiness andspices including; cinnamon and cloves. As the wine opens up, thearomas continue to develop and black licorice and dried cranberriesare added to the nose. This wine is very fruit forward due to theripeness of the 2008 harvest. The palate starts with ripe cherriesand plums and finishes with layers of oak, pecans, salted caramel,and candied cherries. The combination of long barrel aging and ripefruit allows this wine to fill your mouth with complex flavors andsilky tannins. These tannins allow many years of aging andenjoyment. The 2008 La Vita is best accompanied by pizza,sausages and pasta.

LA VITA isBARGETTO WINERY'S finest wine and represents our family's Italianheritage. Composed of Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Refosco, this garnetcolored, full-bodied wine is muscular and powerful, yet will gentlyunveil concentrated flavors with age.

The appearanceof the 2007 LA VITA is a deep garnet on the edges moving to alovely purple in the middle of the glass. The aroma profile of thisLA VITA has dried cherries for the fruit and earthy aromas of spicyblack pepper and a touch of cedar. The palate starts with anexplosive abundance of cherries and plum. This fruit balances withNorthern Italian acidity and big, rich tannins. This wine is madeto be consumed with good food and better friends. It will stand upto cellaring for at least 10 years.

Part of theproceeds from the LA VITA sales goes to a Santa Cruz areanon-profit.
