<P>Outdoor Commercial Flagpoles <br /><br />GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALUMINUM FLAGPOLES<br />Our cone tapered ground set aluminum flagpoles are precision fabricated from new, 6063-T6 tubing utilizing the industry’s most sophisticated, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. The conical portion tapers approximately 1” in every 51/2 feet. Poles with overall lengths of less than 38’6” are shipped in one piece. Longer lengths are shipped in sections and will be factory fitted with a self-aligning sleeve which requires no field welding. Upon proper assembly a hair-line joint will occur. All poles are double spiral wrapped with protective paper and shipped in a hard fiber tube. <br /><br />“Warning” <br />The flagpole shaft will stain if allowed to remain in contact with wet or damp wrappings. If there is any sign that the shaft or its shipping tube has come in contact with water during shipment, remove it from the tube and unwrap immediately. If the shaft is to be stored outdoors, it must be stored unwrapped, and off the ground. If the shaft is to be stored indoors, it may be left in the wrappings and the tube, provided that it shows no sign of having been exposed to moisture, and that it will not be exposed to moisture during storage. All foundation dimensions listed in this catalog are intended for general guidelines only in good, firm, dry soil. It is recommended to consult and engineer for specific foundation dimensions suited to your exact location. “Warning” - Extreme care must be exercised when installing flagpoles near overhead power lines or when digging in the vicinity of buried cable or piping. Contact your local authorities before any digging.</P>

These deluxe internal halyard flagpoles contain a winch mounted inside the flagpole shaft, operable only with a removable crank handle. As the stainless steel cable unwinds from the winch, it passes up through the inside of the flagpole shaft, over the truck sheave to the outside of the shaft, where the retaining ring provides a sliding anchor. A counterweight, heavily coated with neoprene, attached to the retaining ring, allows the halyard to be lowered for fastening or removing the flag. The halyard is then raised completely out of reach of vandals. The improved winch is gearless and self locking at any point, eliminating the need for a seperate brake. This direct drive winch provides rapid raising and lowering of the flag with little effort. This new, improved design does not require any welding, thus avoiding discoloration when an anodized finish is desired. No monthly lubrication is needed.
