The f lavor profile is very creamy and rich with hints of fig, citrus, and mineral and a touch of oak. A luxurious mid-palate gives way to a lingering finish. </span> <br><br> <span class="plain"><strong>Winemaker Notes:</strong><br> Byron Chardonnay Nielson Vineyard is handcrafted using the gentlest winemaking techniques possible in our multi-level, gravity-f low winery. The wine was 100% barrel fermented with 100% malolactic fermentation. During this time, the barrels were hand-stirred once a week to enhance texture, complexity, and longevity. </span> <br><br> <span class="plain"><strong>Vineyard Profile: </strong><br> Fruit for this estate-grown wine comes from the heart of the original Nielson Vineyard, Santa Barbara County's oldest commercial vineyard, planted in 1964. These vines, most of which are planted to the acclaimed Wente clone of Chardonnay, consistently produce low yields of small, intensely flavored berries. The lean, low-vigor soils and cool, coastal climate of the Nielson Vineyard make it ideal for growing world-class Chardonnay.
