2004 Blue Rock Cabernet Sauvignon - Surrounded by ancient olive trees that are still the source of tiny amounts of organic olive oil, Blue Rock Vineyard, just 300-400 feet above the valley floor, is situated in the northern Alexander Valley, near the town of Geyserville. Here, the 43 acres of Bordeaux varietals, planted in soils studded with blue pebbles, rocks and serpentine boulders, thrive in the valley's cool mornings and warm days. The 2004 Cab is rich and powerful, but nicely balanced, with blackcurrant, graphite, cocoa and vanilla aromas that give way to black fruit flavors and well-integrated oak. Silky, sweet tannins and already well-integrated oak will add to this wine's complexity over time.
This is a California Wine.
