The wine has great structure is very well balanced yet surprisingly supple in its texture. The fruit shows well now and will improve with bottle aging. It is elegant and has great charm. The grapes are from our 4.5 acre l00% organic hillside vineyard in Oakville that rises above Robert Mondavi's famous To-Kolan vineyard. This wine is l00% Cabernet Sauvignon that combines the fruit from the top of our vineyard that was picked 22 days prior to the fruit that was picked from the bottom. This "Top/Bottom Blend" is a wonderful example of the power and uniqueness of our hillside vineyard still showing the classic Oakville terroir character. The wine was aged in French Oak (95%) and American Oak (5%) for 23 months prior to bottling in August 2005.
