"Elegantly styled, supple and harmonious, with smooth currant, fresh earth, anise and light cedary oak notes. Well-focused and drinking well now, it shows the graceful side of Napa Cabernet. Drink now through 2012. 300 cases made." — James Laube, Wine Spectator.
This is our second vintage from this Cabernet vineyard. As in our 2003 vintage, the nose is dominated by cedar, pine needles and mint. On top of that there is an attractive dustiness that is akin to a Rutherford Cab (3 miles down the road). The palate has richened up significantly with earthy lead with an offering of cloves, mint and celery seed. The oak adds sweet cream/caramel/vanilla which balances the round ripe tannins. Sweet black fruits finish off this lovely cabernet.
