Order Management System
The Order Management System (OMS) is the heart of Nexternal's ecommerce software. Merchants login to the Order Management System to process orders, manage their online product catalog, setup promotions, and continually fine tune their online store(s).
Some common order tasks performed by online merchants in the Order Management System include:
- Generating shipping labels (UPS, FedEx, DHL, or USPS)
- Printing packing slips and invoices
- Capturing credit card payments (Online Credit Card Processing)
- Tracking existing orders
- Capturing offline orders such as phone, fax or mail orders (many merchants will have their outsourced call centers place order through the OMS)
The Order Management System goes far beyond efficient order processing. It is a complete tool set that merchants use to grow their business. The OMS includes a host of marketing tools that give Nexternal clients an advantage over their competition including the bulk E-Mail Wizard, the Search Engine Friendly Catalog, and product data feed tools for marketplaces such as Google Product Search, Shopzilla, PriceGrabber, Shopping.com and Yahoo! Shopping. Merchants can easily keep their product listings and inventory up to date with the click of a button. Included are a variety of online reports and statistics that help gauge the store's performance and better understand online customer behavior. Plus, the OMS is web based, so a merchant can access all of their information from anywhere they have an internet connection.
