Tasting Notes:
The Burford and Brown Melanto Terrace is an extremely fruit forward, user-friendly wine. It has a brilliant pale straw color. The delicate fruit aromas and flavors in this wine were captured during extended, cold stainless steel fermentation. This handcrafted wine separates itself stylistically from all other
Sauvignon Blanc wines by combining mineral qualities with intense tropical and spicy aromas and flavors. Spiciness is another descriptor for the classic herbaceous/cut-grass style made popular by New Zealand wineries. We are proud to say that there is no other blend in the market right now like this one.
Winemaker Notes:
Peter Burford is a product of Sacred Heart College and Roseworthy Agricultural College in South Australia. For a decade and a half, Peter has held top winemaking positions throughout the world: from one of Australia's top icon brands- D'Arenberg Winery, to Alexander Valley Vineyards in
Healdsburg, California, Renwood/Santino Winery in
Amador, California, and one of Asia's largest wineries, the Chateau de Loei in North Eastern Thailand.
Varietal Notes:
Verdelho is widely planted in Australia, Spain and Portugal, making some of their finest and most distinctive white wines. Peter originally sourced the fruit as a blender for his Sauvignon Blanc. “Everyone adds
Semillon to their Sauvy’s for complexity, I just wanted to have something different and I think it worked, what about you?”
