Tasting Notes:The fruit for the 2005 vintage was harvested by hand in ideal conditions and aged for nearly 18 months in small French oak casks. You’ll find deep, concentrated aromas and flavors of ripe blackberries and blueberries with hints of game, pepper, earth, and minerals on a medium-full bodied frame.
Vineyard Information:The 2005 Syrah Estate comes exclusively from our estate Fault Line Vineyards, specifically the Cobblestone Hill and Cox’s Rock parcels. The vines grow in dry, poor soils which seem to enrich the intense ripe blackberry and huckleberry fruit and add weight and substance to the fleshy texture. This wine also has our trademark black and white pepper spice in both the aroma and flavor that intertwines with the succulent fruit as the finish unfolds.
Food Pairing:Enjoy this over the next three to five years with pancetta wrapped goose breast dredged in cumin-paprika-curry oil and grilled leeks or with sesame-crusted grilled lamb kabobs and summer squash.
