Tasting Notes:Blackberries, Cinnamon, black-olive flavors followed by earthy
tobacco, soft Vanilla and toast on the palate. It makes you sip
sip an sip again.
Winemaking Notes:Part of our Syrah is whole-cluster fermented to extract these fine flavors and tannins from the berries’ skins. It then matures in mostly American oak barrels creating a creamy, toasty texture which combined with the fruity flavors result in a wine dancing on the palate.
Vintage Notes:Our grapes benefit from the high elevation (+2500 feet) and the well drained rich soils
up here in the Fair Play appellation. The result is a fruity, chewy Syrah with well ripened
tannins and a spicyness not found anywhere else. 2005 was a vintage of diversity,
boosting fruity flavors and animating taste.
