This has become a cult wine of sorts in the FOXEN world—probably because it is so distinct from most Californian Cabernet Francs. Consistent and telltale Tinaquaic aromas of smoked jalepeño (chipotle), blueberries and classic cigar box greet you. Our estate Cabernet Franc always displays a mouth-feel that is thick (but not fat), loaded with ripe plums, blueberries, tobacco and firm tannins. Recently we paired this wine with a Gorgonzola-stuffed beef tenderloin “au poivre” , and the match was phenomenal. I recommend decanting if you want to enjoy this wine sooner—rather than later!-Bill Wathen</P>
