Winemaker Notes
“This wine has a great dark color and the bouquet jumps out of the glass, with floral, spice and black fruit aromas. The front end is loaded with fruit and spice and dense, rich layers of blueberry, black currant, pomegranate, boysenberry and acai berry (pronounced ahh-sci-ee) wrapped in nutmeg and allspice. The mid-palate is huge – it is where the flavors really open up and the big, velvety tannins and sweet but balanced alcohol give way to a long and lingering finish. I don't need food with a wine like this but I could think of a lot of hearty dishes that I would enjoy with this wine.”
94 POINTS - The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker
"The vineyard with the best view, I suppose, is the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Lakeview Vineyard. This is the most supple, sensual, and sexiest of the Cabernet Sauvignons. It comes across like a French Pomerol, but bigger and broader. Sadly, there are only 100 cases of it. Dense, opulent, flamboyant, but at the same time elegant and pure, with intense notes of earth, espresso roast, chocolate, licorice, sweet black currants, and cherries, it should be drunk over the next 10-15 years."
