The player can be converted to UMS mode for compatibility with Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 (MTP mode is not supported by these operating systems). The players contents will be erased when converting from MTP to UMS and vice-versa.<br />** Subscription music service and other features are not available while the player operates in UMS mode.<br />?4GB equals 4 billion bytes, not all memory space available for file storage. **Battery life rating based on continuous music playback at 50% volume of 128kbps MP3 music files.</P>
