For more than 40years, these head-trained, dry-farmed Zinfandel vines have takendeep root in the site's volcanic soils.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;Old vines like these naturally reduce their own yields, producingfewer and fewer clusters as the years go by. These clusters alsobecome smaller with each year, and the heightened juice-to-skinratio greatly intensifies Zinfandel's rich, varietalcharacteristics.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Wine Notes&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;Our 2011 Zinfandel was hand harvested on October 19th. Afterhand-sorting and destemming the clusters, we gave the grapes afive-day, whole-berry cold soak for maximum flavor and colorextraction. After fermenting the wine for about one week instainless steel, we aged it for 10 months in 30% new French oak toadd complexity to the rich fruit character.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;True to its varietal, this Zinfandel exhibits ripe aromas andflavors of raspberry, black cherry and pomegranate.
