<H1>2007 J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley -- J Vineyards & Winery Shopping Cart</H1> <I>Current Release: J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley</I> <P> <IMG SRC="https://store.nexternal.com/jwine/images/PinoGris_07_large.jpg" ALIGN=right ALT="2007 J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley" NAME="2007 J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley" BORDER=0 HSPACE=10> <div><font color="#171717" size="2"><font face="Verdana"><strong>2007 J Pinot Gris<br />Russian River Valley</strong></font></font></div> <div><font color="#171717" size="2"><hr noshade="true" /><font face="Verdana"><strong></strong></font></font><div><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>The Vineyards </b> </font></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2">The 2007 J Pinot Gris is a wonderful blend of 100% Pinot Gris fruit from the unique growing regions of the Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Santa Barbara appellations.  Most of the fruit for this wine comes from our own Cooper and River Road Vineyards, and from long time relationships with Saralee's and Preston Vineyards.  The cool region and well-drained soils of these vineyards help to ripen the grapes slowly, allowing fully mature flavors to develop while preserving a crisp elegance.</font></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2">            </font></div> <div><b><font face="Verdana" size="2">Winemaking</font></b></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2">Whole grape clusters were hand-harvested, and then pressed gently into J's Coquard press.  The gentle press minimizes the extraction of harsh components from the skins of the grapes and allows the varietals true expression to reveal itself. </font></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2"></font> </div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Ageing</b>         </font></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2">Each wine lot was kept separate and fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless steel with a wide variety of yeasts.  This gentle treatment allowed each lot to develop a unique profile preserving the integrity of the Pinot Gris fruit.</font></div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2"></font> </div> <div><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Tasting Notes</b><br /></font></div> <font face="Verdana" size="2">The 2007 J Pinot Gris leads with fruit aromas of honeysuckle, orange blossom, peach and star jasmine.  On the palate, flavors echo the nose, exploding with white peach, ripe Asian pear, warm cinnamon, with a bright, lively, crisp acidity.
