
Michael Pozzan Winery is proud to present MARIANNA - dedicated to the wife of winemaker Michael Pozzan who urged her husband many years ago to follow his dream of producing his own wine.
The 2005 Napa Valley Marianna is our winery's sixth release of this Bordeaux style red wine. It is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
A ripe, rich wine, with overtones of currant, cedar, and blackberry flavors combined with medium tannins, gives this wine a Bordeaux-like personality. Extremely smooth with a hint of earthy tobacco and coffee, creates another layer of complexity. Would pair quite nicely with any type of roasted meat especially an herb grilled leg of lamb. Rich and complex with an earthy, dusty nose. A solid core of black cherry, plum and currant. Has good depth and is well balanced, finishing with a hint of fresh herbs. A long, intricate aftertaste with medium tannins. The texture is supple and polished. Would pair quite well with prime rib or leg of lamb.

This is a full-bodied Cabernet with layers of complex dark fruit. Ripe and smooth in texture with concentrated flavors of plum, cedar, and anise. Well-focused tannins balance perfectly with the rich fruit. It would pair quite well with a roast lamb, barbecued rib eyes, or grilled garlic pork with fresh herbs. 10,000 cases produced.
