NVWE NOTES: Both complex and sweetly fruity, the aromas of this fine Pinot offer Italian dark cherry and dry rose as central themes, which are fleshed-out by deep smoke, roasted grain, toasty vanilla, bouillon, earth and white pepper scents. On the palate it is upscale in both richness and depth, delivering flavors that follow the aromatic pattern, but add pretty orange hints to the cherry and rose fruit. The finish is long, youthful and broadly savory, with the fruit coiled in reserve. Given some air, it will prove a noble companion to a big roast or rich stew right now, but it will improve for another three years if allowed the cellar time. 7,898 cases produced. WINEMAKER NOTES: This full-bodied wine has lofty weight yet the wine is supple, elegant and well-balanced. The aroma is inviting with notes of leaf tobacco, mushroom, forest floor, leather, and cinnamon. The flavors are dominated by blueberry, plum, blackberry, and a medley of spices, including clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
