Tasting Notes:
“I recently had the opportunity to taste this wine beside our 2007
Cabernet franc. I was both content with the consistency of the
vineyard’s expression and encouraged by the great depth of this,
more recent bottling. The common insistence that fruit from older
vines reveals its “wisdom” in the glass is always intriguing, and
we reckon we’re starting to get somewhere with this fourth harvest.
2009 was generous in the mid Columbia, and the wine displays both
ripeness and restraint. It is an appealingly franc” depiction,
supple yet dark, and a bit formal; on the tongue it is more firmly
tannic than in earlier years, poised to accompany meatier menu
items (and to reward your patience, should you tuck a few bottles
in the cellar).”
