Viognier, Marsanne, and Rousanne are among the varieties that we have pioneered in San Diego County on our estate hillside vineyards in the San Pasqual Valley. Our winemaker, Leon Santoro, decided to blend 73% Viognier with Marsanne and Rousanne and then age the blend in French Oak to create a wine rich with vanilla, citrus and a pleasant acidity. The name Lotus was inspired by a visit to the world famous “Jardin Botanique” in Montreal, Canada. Their magnificent display of the lovely and fragrant Lotus flower was quite beautiful.
