These chocolate fig and wine confections from New York chocolatier Cocoavino are made with Starboard Batch 88 in the Drunken Figs and with Essensia in the Wassailing Figs. To make Drunken Figs, Batch 88 is reduced and combined with organic fair trade chocolate and figs to make a sort of chocolate fig port compote, which is then stuffed into more figs which are then dipped in more delicious dark chocolate. Sliced into delectable morsels this confection is a fabulous experience with the Batch 88, which has on its own a chocolate fig taste. These are no ordinary chocolate candies. The wines are very much a part of the taste. Wassailing Figs are similar to Drunken Figs but instead of Starboard are confected with wassail (a spiced punch associated with winter celebrations) made with Essensia and are offered by Cocoavino only during the holiday season. For the ultimate pleasure, enjoy with chilled Essensia.
