This is a supplement to my last question regarding starting gravities. When I boiled this batch, I started with about four gallons of water. I added around a gallon to the primary fermentor before taking the reading of 1.052. I did the first batch the same way, and started at 1.069. Why such a difference? I read in previous questions about how added water throws off the readings. Is there a way to compensate for this? Is adding one gallon of water going to throw it off that much? |

I have been looking at a lot of different home brewery kits on the internet. What is the difference in the performance between plastic and glass (carboy) fermenters? |

Am making my own drink mixers and bottling to give away as Christmas presents. I have 375 ml wine bottles. Would like to use "zork" caps to close and seal. My question...How do you insert them and seal initially? Do they come with directions? Must I have any special tools? All videos that I could find only show them being unzipped and popped open. |

I wanted to get started brewing as a hobby, but since I am still in college time is crucial. Once a batch has begun how much attention does it need before I can leave it by itself?
I live in a relatively small 3-room apartment, where size and space matters. How much room does your appliance take up?
Are there any additional items I will need to purchase with the kit itself? |

I am thinking about brewing your Nectar of the Gods Mead with one of your brew kits. I noticed in the mead instructions that it has to be kept at a certain temperature for a certain length of time. I am new to brewing and was wondering is there something that comes with the kit that will do this? How do I keep the brew at a certain temperature while it is brewing? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you and using your products. |

I am needing bottle caps for a craft. I need the inside of the cap to measure 1", is this the standard size? Or are the ones I am needing "Large"? I would love, love, love to have mixed colors, and also one batch of Silver.

Is this salvageable? On Sept.8, I made a batch of your Diamond Knot IPA. I followed the partial mash method to extract more fermentable sugars, but still ended up with a starting gravity of 1.056. If I had let it steep longer at 160 degrees, would I have gotten more sugars out? Can the partial mash method (or a combination of both methods) be used for other types of grain, to get more sugar out.
My biggest problem however, is that I forgot to add the dry hops. I discovered them in my equipment . . . |
