WHAT REBECCA SAYS
This is the only category of products in the Shop where it's really not feasible for me to speak from personal experience. And even if it were, in this murky area of nutrition of and nutritional supplementation, without dry eye studies and/or overwhelming anecdotal evidence from users, I think it would be irresponsible of me to hazard any suggestions about potential results as regards improving dry eye specifically. So, I'm limiting myself to general observations about what the product was like for me for however long I took it (if at all). For more information and to compare notes with other users, I highly recommend visiting Dry Eye Talk.
Anyway, here are my "added value" comments for what they are worth:
(Feb 2008) After a couple of years on fish/flax blends (capsules), and then awhile on high concentration fish oil (capsules as well), I've decided to go back to basics and am gingerly trying to educate myself about Omega 3s. My first step has been to go on liquid flax oil, which I've been using for a few weeks now. I'm actually using the cinnamon flavored flaxseed oil (which you can find in the shop as well). Can't say too much at this stage other than that I was tremendously relieved to find it so much easier to imbibe than I'd expected! I stir it into some yoghurt and put berries on top for breakfast every morning and I actually REALLY like it. Not least because in this format I can actually trick my husband into getting some Omega 3s every day - he loves yoghurt and the very subtle cinnamon flavor really makes this pleasant.
If you want to know more, watch for the "Rebecca's Journal" entries in my blog, The Dry Eye Digest. I'm sure I'll eventually steel myself to try the oil straight up or at least on salad.
Nothing against capsules, by the way. It's a good, convenient way to get Omega 3s and if I go back to capsules, it will be Barleans because of their total dedication to quality.
