Seattle Sombrero™
This broad rain hat protects the wearer from precipitation without reducing visibility or limiting movement. The shell offers waterproof protection and the brushed lining manages perspiration. The shaped brim directs water away from the head when it’s gushing.

The Seattle Sombrero is the ultimate rain hat. Use it in the worst rain storm you can find and keep your head dry while kayaking, hiking, skiing in the Pacific Northwest, sailing, or getting off the bus into a thunder shower.
Taslan Gore-Tex dome, fully taped
Sombrero is waterproof, windproof, and vapor permeable
Comfortable, contoured fit in the windiest weather; little space between head and crown of the hat.
"Guaranteed To Keep You Dry"? certification
Not only does this hat pass all of our quality standards, but it also passes W.L. Gore?s tough rain room test.
Cinch-Band internal adjustment system (patent # 4,845,782)
Easy sizing of the internal headband to accommodate a liner or to simply tighten the fit to keep the hat on in the wind.
Allows the outer shell to be held away from the head a bit, maintaining air flow and therefore greater comfort and vapor exhaust through the Gore-Tex? membrane.
1-inch wide elastic in headband
A two-inch length of elastic in the Cinch-Band increases comfort at the band by stretching a small distance.
Foam-stiffened brim
In addition to the obvious structure benefits of foam in the brim, it also allows this hat to float if blown overboard.
Hook and loop tabs on crown and brim
Brim can be velcroed up on one side of crown or both when greater visibility, ventilation, or style is needed.
Brushed tricot lining
Spreads perspiration rapidly over its surface to aid in more rapid exhaust of vapor through the Gore-Tex? crown.
Very comfortable material to have next to the skin. Feels dry even when wet.
Protects the Gore-Tex? membrane and seam tape
Removable drawcord under chin
When it?s windy the chin cord keeps the hat from flying overboard. For less intense situations, it can easily be untied from the loops above the ears.
Long enough so the hat can be dropped down onto the upper back.
Longer brim in back than in front
Keeps water from running down your neck; yet, not so long that it gets in the way of a backpack.
When the sun comes out the neck is protected from being burned.

NOTES from the field
Since 1985, the indestructible Sombrero has kept our heads and necks dry in deluges from northern Canada to the Carolinas to the Northwest’s rainforests. It’s packable, the brim is stiff enough in all but the strongest winds, and the tail is elongated to channel water over your jacket collar, not under it.
