Jekel "Gravelstone" Chardonnay 2010, Monterey, CA

Aromas of passion fruit, Honey Dew melon, pineapple and Monterey's classic fresh lemon citrus with toppings of vanilla bean and butterscotch. This medium-full wine has the crisp acid backbone common to the Central Coast, with layers of flavor from carefully selected lots of vineyards from Arroyo Seco, near Greenfield (24%), and San Bernabe (76%). A wonderful roundness and smooth, rich mouthfeel gives in to flavors of lingering peach and pineapple. This is a wine to enjoy on its own, or with fresh fish or crab caught by the Monterey Bay fishing fleet.
