I have always owned my own software and dedicated server and never have I ever used another companies software and hosting until this year. The first company I decided to go with was the worst experience I have ever had on the web. We were live and launched and having customers abandon our cart. This created a real panic as I had to explain to my partners why this was happening. To be honest I did very quick research (and many prayers) and made a decision to try Nexternal. We have a unusual website and use the subscription service along with non subscription products. We did encounter many different issues along the way. Making custom pages that didn't look like out main page to looking up subscriptions separate to our regular orders. The other option would have been for the development team to do a custom fix for us which would have taken some time which is reasonable for any code to be done. We didn't have time but were willing to wait. Every time she came up with a solution that was a work around and did work just fine. Speaking of the development team they really do listen and implement new features. I was amazed when one of the features we need that she found a fix for us was put into place with in a week. The aspect of Nexternal that I find the most valuable is the outstanding customer support provided. We've found Nexternal to be much more reasonably priced than many other OMS programs that are not nearly as comprehensive or flexible. Cart addendums that live-update as items are added/removed, related products, product reviews, multiple product images, and easy to set-up product/quantity discounts are all capabilities that encourage ordering and increase volume of each order. Adding new products is easy, as is management of customer records. Existing customers like being able to log in and view their order status/history, and we love being able to analyze each customer's ordering habits. Reports are easy to run, and to export as well. If ever a report does not exist for or fit one of our needs, our account representative is always sure to suggest an update in the OMS to the Nexternal team. I have seen suggestions she made get incorporated later on!
Our account manager is extremely responsive and helpful. She is very knowledgeable and if ever she doesn't know the answer to a question, she is quick to first admit that she does not know, and secondly research and find for me a detailed but understandable answer. Pamela is also great at showing me tricks and giving me helpful hints that make my job easier every day.
Another feature of the OMS that has proven helpful is the Wine Club capability; that subscription-based revenue structure is huge for our quarterly online sales and I am able to run each club order on my own. We added a new Wine Club type about seven months ago, and doing so was very simple and did not in any way disrupt the already-existing Wine Club types.
We are very happy with Nexternal's OMS and have never once regretted our decision to go with Nexternal, or thought about switching. The Order Management System (OMS) is critical to our back office process and fulfillment. Each of our brands has their own marketing requirements, but they all have a similar order processing flow. Nexternal's OMS allow me plenty of configurability so each storefront looks and acts uniquely, but the overall process is consistent, and easy to manage.
One of the strongest features we use is the web service interface provided on the back end, allowing us to integrate with other systems. More specifically, we integrate directly with our fulfillment house through this interface, allowing all order processing to be automated and streamlined. Using a product that is so configurable, yet easy to use, can only be successful with great customer service. What we have experienced is the account executive assigned to our projects takes a serious interest in our business being successful.
