Maximum Product Image Size Recommendations for Online Store

Can you tell me the minimum or Maximum Size for product images to be used? This should be in size and pixels.

When loading the images under the edit products page, there are question marks next to each of the Thumbnail, Main Image and Large Image. File sizes are limited to a maximum of 2048kb. Please click on the individual question marks in your order management system for recommended sizes with additional discussion of images.
