You will first need to connect your system with your UPS account. (See q 743 in the help desk)
Next, you'll will need to turn on real time rates (RTR) for each zone. In the OMS click Settings on the Main Menu on the left. Next, edit the Shipping section. You should be able to skip the first page by clicking the “Next” button at the bottom.
On page 2 select which shipping methods to turn on and also turn off as needed. Then click “Next” again.
Page 3 will allow you to set advanced rules for each shipping method and zone. To get real-time rates from UPS you must check the RTR (Real Time Rates) checkbox for all shipping methods you choose to use with real-time rates in each zone. Once this is complete, click “Next” again.
Page 4 will allow you to set backup rates if UPS is down. Finally click “Finish” and you should be set. You can visit your store and add an item to the cart and click “determine shipping cost” to test your changes.
UPS Rates & Service Selection bases its calculations on package quantity, product weight, dimensional weight, and other factors such as Customer Classification, Additional Handling, and Declared Value. Therefore, it is important to accurately enter weights for all of your products, and to choose your preferences carefully on the Online Shipping Tools Preferences screen. You may enter product weights on the New/Edit Product screen, by using the Product Quick Edit view, or by using the Product Import.
