The first step in setting up MailChimp 360 is to sign up for MailChimp and connect your MailChimp account to your Nexternal store. Simply click on Guided Tutorials in the left navigation of your OMS, search for Chimp in the pop up menu, and follow the guided steps for set up. Or, follow the directions here.
Next, you'll need to configure your Nexternal Order Management System to pass order data to MailChimp. Visit Settings / Compatible Software - Edit / MailChimp Email Marketing and select "Sync Orders With MailChimp." Please note, you have the option of excluding both subscription and bulk orders during the sync process.
For step two, you'll need to be logged into your MailChimp account. Visit Account Settings / Extras / Add Ons and add eCommerce360. Once connected, now your customers' new order data can flow into MailChimp, allowing you to access to a rich new set of MailChimp marketing tools!
Now, when you include links in your marketing emails, you'll be able to track revenue generated from those campaigns in the Reporting section of MailChimp. Furthermore, there are some attractive marketing opportunities that can be created with Autoresponders and follow-up drip campaigns (example: send customers an email 30 days after ordering product xyz).
Tip: When you create a new campaign in MailChimp, make sure that Ecommerce360 Link Tracking is selected (it will likely be on by default).
(Note that any old order data prior to the activation of the integration will not pass into MailChimp).
